elvi patent trench coat ♥

Pink Patent Coat - ELVI*  |  White Dress - PLT (Similar)  |  Bag - Louis Vuitton  | Nude Stilettos - Office  | Rings* - The Diamond Store
I may be jumping ahead with today's outfit post because we are only just ending August and technically the autumn season doesn't officially begin until the 23rd September. Despite this fact, the past week has felt incredibly frosty and I have been reaching for my warmer jacket. Although I hate the colder weather, I love autumn fashion and today's blog post is probably one of my favourites. I was kindly sent this beautiful patent pink trench coat from Elvi and I am in heaven.
I love everything about this jacket, the design, the colour and the texture - I think this is the perfect wardrobe piece to transition from the summer weather to the cooler autumn season. I am really surprised how much I like the colour, we know I usually prefer black but the warm pink adds a soft touch to the intense patent fabric and it looks amazing with white. I think the soft pink shade makes this coat more wearable and if you want to add patent fabrics into your wardrobe, this coat is not too extreme or daring. You could certainly get away with this as your 'everyday' autumn coat.
You can wear this trench coat belted but I prefer showing the white dress to add extra contrast and I think the cut out pattern on the dress makes this outfit more suitable for the summer season. I know it is still early to be talking about autumn coats so a summer dress is a great way to make this look more wearable. I bought the dress from Pretty Little Thing a few years ago and I think the Elvi coat is the perfect match, the dress is on the risky side because of the length but luckily the coat adds a classic twist to the look.
For the shoes, I was going to reach for my usual strappy sandals but the nude stilettos just added a touch of glamour to the final look and they certainly look great on the tiled floor! I actually spent my Sunday at Dancers Hill House to shoot this outfit and the chandelier and tiled floor made this mini photo shoot a dream to style and shoot. You can actually win Dancers Hill House in a raffle for only £13.50 - you can see their Instagram here to see the full house tour. It was incredible to visit the house and even more exciting to shoot my blog photos there.
When it comes to Elvi sizing, I am usually on the petite size and this coat arrived in a size 8. For the coat, this is the smallest size Elvi has available so I was worried it would be slightly too big.The sizing couldn't be better, it wasn't too tight or too big plus the pink belt is a perfect tool for adding extra definition around your waist area. I actually rolled up the sleeves to make it more fitted and I love that this makes it look more casual. It even highlighted my rings and my bag.

I will be writing a separate review on my new Louis Vuitton bag but I am waiting to move in with Ollie so I can have the space to photograph it and film a detailed video but honestly, the Louis Vuitton Graceful bag is my dream handbag. I have wanted this bag for years and Ollie spoilt me when we visited Paris for my birthday. I think this bag adds a subtle touch of colour to the outfit and I just love the clash of brown and neutral pink tones.
I hope you enjoyed reading this outfit post, I have tried to be pretty detailed with how I pieced this outfit together, like I've said in previous blog posts, I'm not a big fan of bold patterns or colours but I am a big fan of edgy material and this coat is my new obsession. I will be wearing this non stop especially when the colder weather appears. What do you think of this look? Are you a fan of trench coats? Let me know what you think ♥
