food time - my itsu gyoza recipe ♥

Hi guys, I am incredibly excited to talk about today’s blog post. We all know I am obsessed with sushi and Japanese food, it is all I ever talk about. I have been a fan of Itsu for years so I was over the moon when they contacted me to partner up for today’s post. I have been feeling pretty sluggish lately and although Christmas is the perfect time to treat yourself, I do find myself craving a simple and basic dinner. Personally, I find it quite refreshing to have a break from the festive menu in my house. When it comes to cooking, I am certainly not a skilled chef and I can be pretty clumsy when it comes to using a kitchen but I was excited to try the Itsu Gyoza range*.

The Itsu website has countless recipes for gyoza's but I thought I’d like to try my own version - a healthy, super easy and basic dinner or lunch option. With Christmas right around the corner, gyoza's can make the perfect starter and best of all, they take 6 minutes to cook in a pan and for extra flavour you can dip them in teriyaki or sweet and sour sauce. When I started to create my healthy gyoza recipe, I visited my local Waitrose store and picked up a pack of gyoza's from the Itsu range, I can't believe a pack contains 16-20 gyozas for only £3.50!
Now I started preparing my dinner by simply cutting up cucumber, carrots and lettuce. After neatly placing them in a bowl, I seasoned them with lemon juice, salt and pepper. While I made the rice, I simply began cooking the gyoza's in a pan until they were ready. I drizzled the gyoza's with soy sauce and voila, my dinner was complete. I think this recipe is super easy and basic but very delicious. I didn't want to complicate this dish and I wanted to keep the focus on the gyoza's.
It really is as simple as that! I used a combination of gyoza's, I picked the King Prawn and Sesame Tuna flavours. The King Prawn pack has to be my favourite, it is bursting with a fresh taste and it has certainly been popular in my house. If you are looking for a vegetarian option, the Itsu Gyoza bags are also available in the Vegetable Fusion flavour. I hope you enjoyed today’s food focused post, I would love to know how you would serve up the Itsu Gyoza range, you can find the Itsu items in selected stores throughout the UK. ♥
