I spend my time running around London or trying to jog in my gym and as you can imagine, this doesn't have a nice effect on my skin when I am trying to cram in my to-do list as well. I personally believe that our skin reflects our lifestyle and mood, if you are constantly tired or stressed, this reflects on the appearance of your skin and usually my skin is pretty oily but lately it has been very sensitive, dull and messy. Now I know that most people have heard of the Bioderma Micelle Solution H2O - this make-up remover is praised heavily so I was thrilled when the Bioderma Sensibio collection* arrived at my door to try out for myself. My skin was in a slightly different mood when I started testing this range out so I was very curious to see how it would react to new products, especially ones that are designed for sensitive skin types.
The Bioderma brand was created in 1977 and they believe in providing biological solutions for skin problems - no matter what the skin type. A healthy PH balance and reliable testing is incredibly important to Bioderma. Because the Sensibio range is designed for super sensitive skin, I used my mum as a guinea pig, she has very, very delicate skin and it usually reacts to anything that is put on her face. When my mum used the Sensibio Light Soothing Cream*, she had no reaction at all - usually my mum will have a burning sensation with most moisturisers but luckily the cream left her skin feeling smooth and hydrated. I never normally react badly to skin care products so I have been using the Soothing Cream as a moisturiser, I found it easy to work into my skin and it doesn't feel oily at all, it is a great size for keeping in your make-up bag too. I love that this product is suitable for my skin type and my mum's - she is quite happy that she can steal this cream from me now.
When it came to removing my make-up, I was curious if the Bioderma Sensibio H2O remover would live up to the hype. I was not disappointed, packaging wise I love how big the bottle is - it is sturdy and easy to pour. I had no problem removing my heavy mascara and foundation and my skin felt like it could breathe afterwards. The Sebium Pore Refiner* is definitely my favourite product out of the three, I have always been self conscious of my pores and I really love using the refiner before I apply my foundation. It makes a great primer and I love that it makes my skin feel secure and protected, it feels like a barrier but it does not feel like I am wearing a heavy mask. As you can see from the left swatch on my hand, the product is incredibly thick and this helps the formula target and hide my larger pores.
Overall, if you have extra sensitive skin like my mum then I really think you should give Bioderma a try, of course it is always a safe bet to consult your doctor first. My mum has incredibly sensitive skin so it definitely made sense to test the Sensibio range on her first. I still love using the range and even though I have dry/oily skin, the products still cater to my skin type too. Have you tried the Bioderma Sensibio line before? I would love to know what tips you have for preventing big pores? ♥
