my vegas gym & diet routine ♥

This time tomorrow I will officially be on the plane to Las Vegas. It feels like only yesterday that we booked the hen do but I'll be honest, I've tried very hard to get into shape for this trip. As I said in my body confidence post, I am all about embracing your figure and being happy with yourself but as soon as Las Vegas came closer and closer I still decided to make some healthy changes to my lifestyle. Seeing as my future camera is not up and ready yet, a Vegas blog series sounds like a good place to begin, starting with my diet and fitness regime, just in case anyone was interested. I thought it would be a nice idea to talk about how I've changed my diet and what my gym routine is. I am certainly not an expert so I wanted to write down what I've changed to feel more confident in my own skin.

That's the biggest word right there - change. I have never really had a flat stomach and I don't really have a six pack now but compared to how my stomach was 6 months ago, I've definitely learnt how to control my waist size. I know it is the same old routine that you've probably heard 100 times before but water is a lifesaver. I literally hate the stuff but I was forced to fill up a bottle when I started going to the gym. As I've said in previous posts and on my regular IG stories, I have started looking at the ingredients of products more, instead of eating a packet of Quavers (a low calorie brand), I started eating snacks that were suitable for vegans and also products that are dairy free, wheat free and gluten free. Don't get me wrong, I still eat out at KFC and have nachos at the weekend but overall, I tend to eat plainer foods and this has really reduced my stomach size. Instead of having a creme egg, I'll have a nakd bar, it still cures my sweet tooth but I know exactly what I'm putting in my body.

The eat salad pictured is a big lunch favourite of mine, I used to be obsessed with only eating meat based products but I love that I can eat vegan dishes and still feel satisfied. 6 months ago when I started the gym, I couldn't even lift a 4 kg kettlebell. Although I weighed more than I do now, I had no strength or energy to hold weights properly but overtime, my strength began to grow and now instead of struggling to use a 4 kg kettlebell for ab work outs, I comfortably use a 20 kg kettlebell. Pretty crazy right? I start my routine by using the stepper machine for 5 minutes, I then move onto the mat and begin my stretches.

After this I do about 20 sit ups, russian twists, air bikes and squats. I pretty much repeat this process until I'm ready to go onto the punching bag, I love boxing and this definitely gets my heart racing. Afterwards, I use the leg adduction machine and I finish off with a 2 minute jog on the treadmill, followed by stretches. I've been going to the gym about 4-5 times a week for 6 months now and I really have noticed a difference with my figure. I certainly don't have a rippling 6 pack but overall I feel much more confident and happier with my body and lifestyle. What tips do you have for feeling more confident this summer? I won't be posting any blog posts until I return next week but I have plenty of blog post categories to keep you company. ♥

  1. Going vegan made me feel loads better in myself. I drank loads of water and walked more too, but I think food-wise, I started adding more vegetables and potatoes to meals which made tons of difference I found. I haven't yet managed to find a decent routine involving the gym, but as a whole, doing two workout classes a week and eating healthy/vegan made a world of difference to me x

  4. be cheap rolex watches price (which is not an accurate generalization), it’s that they offer value proposition different from that of a new watch – a distinct appeal. The truth is, if you’re calculating the value of your time over Fashion Replica Handbags simply enjoying an almost entirely unnecessary fascination with tiny outdated mechanical objects, then I Replica Watches can’t possibly persuade you to see the light.
