muse to my ears ♥

I will put my hands up and admit I am so lazy when it comes to removing nail polish, even though I am a self-confessed beauty addict, I hate doing my nails – yes, I like how pretty they look after but the whole, removing nail varnish routine is very tedious for me… Luckily, there has been a new craze in nail varnish removal, an actual fun way that keeps me entertained and actually excited to take my nail varnish off. Yes, the new Leighton Denny Remove & Go Polish Remover* keeps me easily pleased. You simply place your finger in the sponge hole and twist to the side, the sponge contains nail polish remover that quickly and efficiently removes any unwanted nail polish on your nail.

It really is as simple as that – you don’t need to hunt around your bedroom for cotton pads, you simply use the sponge inside the container and the job is done. The added benefits of this particular nail polish remover is that it is acetone free so it is less harmful for your nails and it is also suitable for all nail types, I know some people have really sensitive nails so this really is a great product for not irritating your skin or nail cuticles. Keeping my nails in good condition is no longer a chore, it’s quick and easy! You can find this little gem at Look Fantastic for only £5.50 – have you tried the Leighton Denny Remove & Go Polish Remover before? Let me know what you think! 10/10

magic hour ♥

I reviewed the Nude Eclipse shade from the Rimmel Apocalips collection last year and it’s safe to say that I still think this is my favourite range of lip lacquers. I wish they had a few shades that were more coffee coloured though, (we all know how 90's make-up obsessed I am), but regardless of that, I really think their colour range covers your every beauty need. Now, we all know that every girl should have at least one red lip product in her make-up bag and if you don’t then the Rimmel Apocalips Big Bang* shade is definitely a great way to start. What do I love most about this shade? The pigmentation for one, it is incredible and it’s definitely more intense compared to the red lipsticks I have in my make-up drawers. I think the actual brush makes this lacquer ideal if you aren't too confident with applying bold lip colours. The brush keeps your application tidy and precise which can be a problem with lipsticks. I cannot praise this shade enough, have you tried any of the Rimmel Apocalips range before? Let me know what your ideal red shade is! 10/10 You can buy this shade from the online website, Look Fantastic for only £5.99 - let me know what other goodies you find!

power outage ♥

It is no secret that I have an obsession with leather jackets, the countless hours I spent watching Buffy Summer's wardrobe growing up has definitely made a lasting impression on me. Leather jackets look effortless and add a roughness that can really transform your outfit. If I had to pick one piece of clothing to wear everyday, it would have to be my leather jacket. So when I was kindly asked to pick a piece from the Warehouse range, I jumped at the chance! This leather jacket from Warehouse* is my new baby, I have fallen in love and even when the sun is beaming and everyone is walking around in denim shorts and flip flops this summer, I will still refuse to take this jacket off! I know the colour seems daring, but Warehouse have really nailed the shade and style so it will suit anyone and it definitely looks great with black. I have been wearing this with casual black leggings and a plain strap top paired with my converse or new Clark shoes. How would you wear this jacket? You can find it on the Warehouse website here, they really do have an amazing range of jackets - let me know how you would style this bad boy, are you obsessed with leather jackets like me? What Warehouse jackets are on your wish list? I'm on the hunt to find a baby blue leather jacket so let me know if you find any on the high street!

sight unseen ♥

I find it so hard to find shoes that are comfortable, I know the saying goes that beauty is pain, but I think with shoes, I would much prefer the beauty part! Why can't shoes look nice and be comfortable at the same time? The amount of shoes I have bought in the past where I have only worn once because they are too painful - it's so pointless! So, when I received vouchers to use at Clarks last week, I was excited to say the least, they are renowned for having high quality shoes that are also really comfy for everyday wear! I decided to try the Turin Dreaming sandals, purely because they will go with all of my clothes and they have the perfect heel. I would wear these with leggings, they are incredibly comfy and the real leather will last a long time. They are perfect for wearing around the office or you can dress them up with a floral dress for after work drinks! They are also available in Tan or Khaki. Have you tried any of the new Clarks range yet? What shoes do you wear the most? You can see their full range here

Seeing as it’s my birthday this Saturday, I wanted to put together a birthday wish list. I don’t feel like turning 23 is daunting, for some reason I thought I was already 23… I wanted to start with my most wanted item out of this wish list, for the past few weeks I have started an obsession with River Phoenix and his films, he was an amazing actor! I found this t-shit on Etsy but you can also find them on eBay and you can find them for about £10. I think it would look amazing with a pair of skinny jeans and the black Zara stilettos. Now, I have enough make-up to last me a life time but I am still lusting after the new Naked 3 palette and of course anything Chanel related, I have actually ordered a dupe of the Naked 3 palette so I will be putting together a review next week! Zara plays a big part in this wish list, their shoes and tops really are beautiful! What would you put on your birthday wish list? I will be having a birthday meal with my friends tomorrow at a Mediterranean bar, I will be wearing a beautiful French Connection dress which I will be blogging about it this weekend!

chick flick ♥

I've been meaning to do this post for a while now, although the weather is slightly hit and miss this month, I am all ready for summer shades! You will usually find me with nude or black nails, I never usually wear girly shades, so I thought I would mix it up a little bit! To me, these shades really are Barbie personified! I don't think you could get anymore Legally Blonde, Elle Woods would be proud! The first shade is from Maybelline and it is called Fuchsia Fun 222. Out of the three, this is my second favourite shade. The colour is incredibly pigmented and it applies very well. The only thing I noticed is that the nail polish does not last that long! It dries incredibly fast though, so it’s perfect because I always smudge my nails! I have used it for over two weeks now and it is almost empty...maybe I have just been a bit excessive with the bottle.

Woops! You can find this shade here on offer for £1.99 7.5/10 The next shade is by L'Oreal Paris, this is definitely one of my favourite shades from this collection - the shade is called Shocking Pink 210. I always love L’Oreal bottles, I think they look very pretty and dainty. The staying power of this polish is exceptional, this will definitely look great with a tan, you can buy it for £4.99 here  9.5/10 The final shade is from Asda, from the George range. It is the cheapest out of the three but the colour pigmentation is incredible, it does not last as well as the L’Oreal Paris Shocking Pink shade, but it is still a really lovely nail polish, especially for £1.75. This particular shade is called Lavender Fantasy and is part of the Quick Dry nail range. Compared to the Maybelline polish, it did not dry as quickly but it is still a lovely shade! 7/10

give me a sign ♥

Today I wanted to look at the MAC palette called Colour Added*! As soon as I saw this palette I thought of Lady Gaga's music video Telephone, the blue and yellow shades are totally Gaga (no pun intended) so I thought it would make a really nice review. I usually stick to pretty plain and safe products so I think this MAC palette will definitely shake that up! As we all know, MAC are incredible with their pigmentation but the real question is - can you actually wear this for an every day look? It's all good and well being able to use this for a Lady Gaga fancy dress, but can brighter colours from this quad be used when you are out for a lunch date or shopping trip? The four shades include Laundry Daze (the white shade), Colour Added (bright yellow), Pre-packaged (the lighter blue, turquoise) and Self-Serve (the dark grey, blue shade). As you can see from the swatches, Self-Serve is really disappointing!

The shade is not as intense as it looks but for an every day look this works perfectly! The three other shades are incredible though, they are incredibly pigmented and blend really well. I think overall, you can wear this for a day look, I know some people have been disappointed about the lack of pigmentation of Self-Serve but for how I would use it, I'm glad it's a subtle shade colour. I would use the yellow because it is bold enough to not wash me out, overall I think this is a lovely palette, I understand that it won't be to everyone’s liking and the price tag of MAC palettes need to worth the splurge. Have you tried Colour Added before? Do you go for safe MAC shades or do you liking daring colours? This palette is pretty hard to find but you can find similar colours on the MAC website or hunt on ebay. 7.5/10

pardon my past ♥

We now live in a world where we want everything fast and easy, we don't want to spend ages ruffling through our make-up bags. Products that are multi-purpose seem to be the biggest craze at the moment, we don't want just want dry shampoo, we want dry shampoo that creates volume, as for our lips we want intense colour as well as gloss. That's where the Leighton Denny Lip Dual Expert Make-Up* steps in. I've been lusting after this lipstick for a while now so I'm really happy that I finally managed to put together photos and really test it out. This shade is called Catwalk Queen and this stick contains a lipstick and a lip stain, you can actually use these together or separately. I think this colour is gorgeous, I know at first glance it looks like it could wash you out but the formula is incredibly pigmented. This has a sheer finish to it with a hint of shimmer, you can buy matte shades that are available in the range. As you can see, I've been using this product quite a lot and when I'm all bronzed up, it really goes well with a tan! I definitely recommend this product for anyone who wants the option of a lipstick or a gloss but hates carrying around a lot of make-up. Lip Dual have definitely nailed this concept! Have you tried this product before? There are 10 different shades available and you can buy them here 9/10

awakened ♥

Last week, the lovely Toni invited me to the see the new Autumn/Winter preview for Boohoo. I was greeted by a giant, pink double decker bus which always makes a great instagram picture ;) The event was held at Marylebone House and press and bloggers gathered to see the new collections. I personally prefer winter clothes because I love wearing black and gold! Boohoo certainly added a fresh take to the typical winter colours though, with gorgeous pastel shades and glam 90's style! I literally wanted to pack everything on the bus outside and drive off! Their dresses were definitely my favourite from the new collection, there was a gorgeous gold dress that looked very 50's inspired! The 90's heels are still staying in trend, I love the gold finishing touches, they are perfect for day or night wear! I love that the 90's are still a really big influence in this range and I can't wait to get my hands on the heels! What is your favourite outfit so far? Although we can't get this collection right now, we can still fall in love with their current summer collection ;) ♥

reckless abandon ♥

When I first started to use foundations in my teens, I never used primers. I didn't really understand why you needed to use them and I didn't really think it would make a big difference. Skip a few years later and I finally know how vital primers are! I can't believe I used to apply foundation without them. So, what exactly does a primer do? Think of a primer as a base product, it makes your skin smooth and moisturised so when you use foundation it applies well. It is a great way of ensuring your foundation blends well into your skin and does not look cakey or patchy. A primer creates a perfect base before you even need to reach for your concealer or foundation. When the lovely Max Factor team popped the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer* in the post for me, I couldn't wait to try it out. I don't think people realise how important primers are and what a big impact they make on your face make-up! To start with, the packaging is lovely and classic, that is one thing you can always guarantee with Max Factor products, they always look very old 50's Hollywood style, which I adore!
I found the texture of the primer very smooth and light, I don't think you need a thick texture because you want it to sink into your skin cells, not sit on top of it. The formula dried quickly which left my skin feeling very smooth and even, it really helped my foundation apply well and it did not make my skin oily. What's so different about this particular primer? Well the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer has the main ingredient from their All day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation. Because of this, your foundation lasts longer and it also has SPF 20 in the formula. The size of the bottle is 30ml so it will definitely last you a while. I really think this is a must have for your make-up bag, you really notice a difference when you apply your foundation and it is perfect if you are at work all day and you don't have the time to touch up your make-up! You can buy the primer here at Boots or from Superdrug, have you tried this primer yet? 10/10 ♥
