double or nothing ♥

Since I started working full time, I've experienced the long hours and busy schedule of a typical working girl, but one of the perks I hadn't experienced for a very long time was pay day! This pay day I treated myself to this beautiful Topshop skirt (£38) and blouse from Bank (£24) - I am in love with this outfit. It's not my usual outfit of choice because I've never been able to indulge in so many things at one, I'm so used to saving money that £60 may not sound like a lot, but £60 on two items is pretty extravagant for me ;) I love the bold colour of this skirt, it was actually featured in Look magazine a few weeks ago. What do you think of this ensemble? I will be wearing this on Friday night, I think we're going to central London for a friends birthday.

I'll be keeping the make-up quite simple but lashes are of course a must - as always, the Katy Perry collection is the only lash range I use...I love her fluttery lashes! :) I think I'll be painting my nails black simply because I do want to mix it up a little bit with the colour palette. I've currently got them red at the moment after going to the nail salon (another perk of being paid!), so what would you change about this outfit? I've found it quite tricky to pair some shoes with the skirt, do you think I should wear black? I'm going to drinks with the work girls tonight, but I'm also seeing the best friends for Nando's. Have a lovely afternoon girls, let me know what you think of the Topshop skirt.

Happy Monday girls! Well..if there is such a thing as a happy Monday... Hope you all had lovely weekends, what does everyone think of the Oscar gowns?! I think Nicole Richie and Britney looked amazing, I wasn't too keen on Kourtney's outfit to be honest, I prefer her wearing more simple designs. What do you think? For today's post I wanted to do a way over due outfit post, I bought new necklaces from New Look over the weekend, so I though I'd show you all. They were buy one get one free so I think they're perfect for adding instant glamour to simple outfits. I love, love, love my hair - I curled it again on the 1-2-3 setting with the Enrapture styler, lovely loose curls! I didn't backcomb my hair at all for this, but I did use L'Oreal Paris Elnett hairspray to set everything.

The top was in the sale from H&M for £2 and the trousers are from Zara for £25. For my make-up, I've used Bourjois Fan-Tastic Volume Mascara, a dark lipstick (the shade number has rubbed off - sorry guys!) by Smooch, MAC bronzer and brown eye-shadow from Natural Collection. My watch is from Massimo Dutti and the bracelets are from Rose Mae Jewellery. Let me know what you think of my jewellery, I think I may have over killed the gold - anymore and I'd look like Cleopatra... Have a lovely evening girls, I'm off to dye my hair a dark, dark brown. Eep, wish me luck! ♥

sleep tight ♥

I kind of have a strange relationship with my hair, it does have its nice moments, but for the majority of the time it's crazy and wild. So when the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler arrived at my door, I was slightly sceptical whether my hair would behave itself or not. What is so unique about the Encode Totem Styler is that you can actually change the settings to create different looks. The numbers on the encoder represent different heat settings, so when you mix them up, they create different curl styles. The one show about is 1-2-3 - it's a mixture of all 3 it's perfect for volume. I love it! It's incredibly easy to use and I love that you basically get 3 different curlers in one. I curled my hair at 11am and it's still holding now, I'm shocked my hair is behaving itself for once!
I think it's such a pretty style and will look lovely when the weather gets warmer and you can pair the curls with a cute summer dress. Obviously the hotter the wand temperature, the more structured the curls will be. It all depends what look you're going for, I personally prefer looser curls, but it was a nice change having them tighter today. The barrel is 25mm so it's perfect for large or structured curl sizes. Have you tried the Encode Styler before? What type of curls do you prefer - loose waves or tight ringlets? Hope you're having a lovely afternoon girls, I'd love to see what type of curls you can create with the Encode Styler! *♥

couplet ♥

I've been feeling slightly ill this week, I don't think I'm coping with this cold weather - hurry up sunshine! For today's post I wanted to talk about W7 foundations, now I know I banished foundation for lent (an odd thing to give up...) but I was sent these gorgeous products and I really did notice the most important thing - it doesn't feel cakey! Fantastic Matte foundation is perfect for my skin type! I cannot stand foundations where it feels like a mask, I love thin liquid foundations that apply maximum coverage but don't leave a horrible thick layer. I usually prime my face with moisturiser and then apply foundation, but this foundation doesn't crease regardless! I think this foundation is perfect if you're sticking to a budget and want to use this nice as a quick and easy product you can pop in your bag for touch ups.

I'm quite ocd when I go out on a night out too, I always have to have a small foundation in my bag - when you're dancing the night away, foundation really is a life saver! What is your pet peeve for foundations? I am standing by my "I'm wearing a mask" foundation - not the most attractive feeling. Let me know what your favourite W7 foundation is, I'm really intrigued by the W7 Flawless Magic Foundation, it's a creamy formula - there are countless shades to match your skin type too. What is your favourite type of foundation? Mineral, liquid, mousse? Have a lovely afternoon girls, I'll be doing more W7 product reviews this week

loyalty ♥

When it comes to change, I think we can be quite afraid of it - changing your routine may not sound complicated but if you do something for a long time, it can feel daunting to break away from it. But change is good right? One of my New Year resolutions is to start looking after myself more, especially my skin - I do love the after effects of using healthy skin products on my skin, having fresh and clear pores is a lovely feeling, but to make a routine of doing this, it can be tricky. So when Skinetica popped through my letter box last week, I was very excited to try it out - I mean, it came at the perfect time really, I'm trying to lay off heavy face make-up for a while and I want to really have naturally clear skin pores! I've been using Skinetica for a week now and I can already notice a huge difference, my skin feels less clogged up and less red.

What I really liked about Skinetica is the fact that it doesn't have any fancy models on the cover or cheesy sayings, it simply does what it says. It protects your skin from break outs and can really calm down any skin redness. The formula is incredibly gentle so if any of you have sensitive skin, I would really recommend this. The best time to use Skinetica is after you've removed all your make-up and first thing in the morning. If you're prone to breakouts even though you still have a strict skin routine, look at the products your using and see if they contain Benzol peroxide, salicylic acird or sulphar - these are the key ingredients found in products that cause acne. Have you used Skinetica before? Let me know your skin routine! Have a lovely evening girls *

waiting in the wings ♥

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
Now I know I swapped my comfy boots for tiny ballet pumps but with this horrible weather I'm back in the boot parade again! Comfy boots win everytime ;) The thing is, I find it quite hard to sometimes pair my boots with the right type of outfit, it can be harder than it sounds... So I thought I would put together some inspiration outfits for how the celebs wear boots. It can be quite hard to wear boots without looking like a pirate sometimes, which is why I prefer more structured boots. My two favourite people, Miss. Kim Kardashian and Mrs. Victoria Beckham are here to lend us a hand - aren't they such pro's at wearing black boots?
Kim has taken a casual outfit but turned it incredibly glam with just a chunky, statement necklace and knee high boots. I've found some gorgeous boots from a website called Duo, I've put together two different styles together so let me know whether your prefer Kim's casual boot combination, or Victora's jean combo. I do love that Victoria can make jeans look so glam and chic! The magic wonders of black boots. I've kept the rest of the outfits incredibly Topshop based, like I've said before, I think it's easier if the clothes are high street based :) P.s I am loving how sleek and stylish both of their hairstyles are, pass me the shine serum pronto! Let me know what is your favourite look is, have a lovely evening girls. ♥

provider ♥

I don't know about you but I am rarely seen without my blackberry, I mean never. As soon as I wake up and start getting ready, I pop on my earphones and start playing my normal Britney or Shania combinations. But that's the annoying thing, because I'm constantly listening to my blackberry this means my earphones don't usually last very long. I always thought I would prefer earphones but I thought I'd give these phone headphones a try. It's safe to say that after using them all week, I'm definitely converted. Comfy, louder, higher quality sound and tangle free, these headphones make my phone and music experience much more enjoyable! As you can see, my poor blackberry phone is dying a death - I really need an iphone... I hope you appreciate my Buffy background though ;) Another point that I really like about these headphone is that the wire is quite thick, this makes it harder to get tangled up, which is always a plus. I know this isn't the most "professh" thing to say, but I'm easily pleased that these headphones also work well as ear muffs when I'm walking to work. What are your favourite headphones? Are you constantly glued to your blackberry or ipod like me? Hope you have a lovely afternoon girls, I'm back to adding more music to my phone ;) All hail Britney! *♥

lullaby ♥

I've almost managed a whole week without any face make-up on, this indeed is a big step for me. Well, I say "no" face make-up, I do mean foundation and concealer. I've applied a light layer of powder on my t-zone just to banish any shine patches. It is strange that I can touch my face and not worry about any product coming onto my hands! For today's post I wanted to focus on the one product I couldn't give up, I am of course talking about lipsticks. I am a huge lipstick fan, especially with brown and red toned shades. I am quite particular when it comes to lipsticks because I think my skin tone and overall complexion is very partial to the type of lip product. The new winter collection from Bourjois really does fulfil my lipstick fetish! The Rouge Edition range really are unique shades, and best of all they are shimmer free!

For me personally, I really don't suit lipsticks that have pearl shine to them, matte is always the way forward ;) The three shades I have are 07 Fuchsia graffiti, 09 Orange pop-up and 02 Beige trench. The textures of the lipsticks is gorgeous and creamy, so as well as adding bold colour, they also moisturise your lips! I think my favourite shade has to be Orange pop-up, it adds instant warmth to my skin tone so all brunette's should definitely try this. To make a lipstick really pop (no pun intended) I usually have to put concealer over my lips first to actually mute my own lip pigment, but this Bourjois range adds cover easily without any hassle! Have you tried coral shades before? Let me know what you're favourite Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick is, I would definitely recommend it! Have a lovely evening girls

quickening ♥

There is always one idiot who happens to wear completely inappropriate shoes in cold weather, that idiot would be me. I've had enough of wearing clunky boots so I thought I'd make a stand and wear flat pumps. The good news is my feet haven't fallen off....I'll be reaching for the boots tomorrow. For today's post I wanted to talk about a gorgeous jewellery brand called Rose Mae Jewellery, this brand really is making an impression in the blogging world, everytime I read a blog I see these bracelets on there! The amazing woman behind the brand is Lisa Hetherington, she really does have an amazing talent and I'm so happy to share these photos with you! I think they are beautifully designed and the skulls really remind me of Alexander McQueen.
They are individually designed so they really do look professional and detailed, I love the variety that this Rose Mae Jewellery sells. The beads can come in a variety of different colours and designs, as you can tell, I love the skulls! I really think the dainty bead size is perfect for adding instant style with to an outfit. When it comes to jewellery I'm incredibly fussy, I love wearing anything What colour beads would you pick? Let me know what combination you'd make, make sure you check out her Facebook and Twitter, Lisa will be launching her website in March so I'm so excited to be able to see more of her collections! I'll add the website link here as soon as possible. I have a few reviews for this week girls, so if there is anything in particular you would like me to feature, let me know. ♥

fredless ♥

It's incredibly depressing seeing the photos from the ELLE Style Awards last night, what I would do to attend this event! Kate Hudson looked incredible, she definitely stood out for me and I really think her dress suited her perfectly. The awards were held at The Savoy Hotel in London last night, and the guests included Bradley Cooper, Stella McCartney, Kate Hudson, Rosamund Pike, Christopher Kane, Nicholas Kirkwood, Simone Rocha, Juno Temple and Amanda de Cadenet arrived to the Moët & Chandon champagne reception in a fleet of Audis. A three course dinner followed, with drinks provided by Cointreau, Green Mark Vodka and Mount Gay Rum. It was the 16th Annual Celebration of Style and as you can see, everyone dressed to impress! Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, hosted the awards, which featured a performance by Les Miserables star Samantha Barks. carpe noctem ♥

Hi girls, how is everyone weeks going? I hope you all had a lovely weekend, minus this strange weather! For today's post I wanted to talk about Now, I know I'm not a Valentine's day fan but they've come up with a really clever idea of how to say "I Love You" to that someone special ;) They will make messages of love sent on Twitter even more personal, unique and meaningful as the nation gears up for Valentine’s Day. From today, anyone can tweet a romantic message (or comment on the Facebook page) using the #Tweetheart tag, along with their declaration of love, and will select five messages to bring to life with teams of musicians and artists in London. To make each message even more special, it will be tailored to the content of the selected tweet, with the resulting bespoke ‘live gift’ sent wherever in London the lucky recipient is to be found, whether in their office, at a restaurant or walking in the park.

Holly Tucker, co-founder and CEO of commented: “We’re taking original and meaningful ways to say just how you feel about someone a step further with our #Tweetheart campaign, helping lovebirds create a heartfelt, unique experience they’ll never forget. We all want to find the most thoughtful gifts for our loved ones on Valentine’s Day and that’s what is all about, with a wide range of carefully selected gift ideas that stand out from the usual Valentine’s Day clichés.” To enter a declaration, simply tweet @notonthehighst using the hashtag #Tweetheart or post it on the company’s Facebook page. Chosen entries will then receive a private message from to get more details on where their Valentine will be on a certain day and the ‘live gift’ will be delivered during the course of the week commencing 11 February. Let me know how you get on girls! ;)

Hello girls, how is everyone doing? Although today is freezing I do appreciate the tiny bit of sun. This week is going incredibly slow, how is it only Friday? This week I went to Pizza Express with the best friend and although I've been good and stuck to my healthy diet so far, we treated ourselves and had chocolate desert ;) What's your guilty pleasure treat? I've been incredibly busy this week sorting out my emails and organising blog posts, so today I thought it would be nice to do a Fairytale Kiss Wish List for New Look. Now it's pretty hard to start putting together a wish list for New Look, I've been obsessed with them for year and the majority of clothes that I've bought from them I've still got.

I know that white dresses are quite on trend right now, that's why I love number 9. You can dress this up or down with a blazer and heels - very snazzy ;) What is your favourite item? I find it really hard to pick! I love that New Look sell Eylure lashes - how amazing do these new Katy Perry Color Pop Lashes look? I haven't tried them yet, but they are definitely on my wish list. I am also in love with the lion swim suit - how funky is that?! Hope you have a lovely weekend girls , let me know what is on your wish list for this month!

redefinition ♥

Hello girls, how is everyone's week going? The snow is far from pleasant, it's even slippery now it's turning to ice! I'm not really feeling well at the moment but I'm going to schedule some posts tonight just so I don't get behind. For today's post I wanted to talk about a lovely little brand called Generation Gap Vintage. I was sent a gorgeous book that you could basically call a "How To Guide" for how to style yourself in vintage goodness. The book goes through every aspect of how to wear vintage, and all the clothes featured are available to buy. From dressing for the evening, to how to wear red lips, you can find everything in here! I found the vintage hair style guide really interesting, the model looks gorgeous - she literally rocks every outfit.

The magazine was designed by the fabulous Zabby Allen, the history of Generation Gap Vintage actually started in 2012 and has been growing ever since. The pieces that Generation Gap sell range from over five decades - talk about diversity ;) What I love about Generation Gap is that they actually acknowledge everyone's attitude towards vintage style. I personally am not really a vintage girl, but its really refreshing to see Generation Gap Vintage actually taking this into consideration when they sell their pieces. You can slowly ease yourself into the trend by buying subtle pieces to add to your regular clothes. Hardcore vintage wearers can also feel right at home with the goodies they sell, so they literally do have everything to quench your needs! Pop onto their page on ASOS marketplace to see if you find something.

that vision thing♥

I am very surprised that the sun is shining today, I can see the sun! I am also seeing my fabulous new copy of ELLE magazine with Mrs. Beckham on the front cover. Doesn't she look amazing? This is definitely one of my favourite ELLE covers to date, and there has been quite a few ;) For today's post I wanted to talk about the ELLE style awards, I would have loved to attend the ELLE style awards this year, hopefully next year I'll be able to tag along with my nifty camera. Hollywood Man of the Moment, Bradley Cooper, has won the coveted Best Actor award at this year’s prestigious ELLE Style Awards, to be held on Monday 11th February. ELLE, will present the ELLE Style Awards, in association with Next, at The Savoy Hotel, London. Now in its 16th year, the prestigious Elle Style Awards are renowned as the “Fashion Oscars” celebrating the most stylish stars, the brightest emerging talent and fashion’s greatest achievers. Lorraine Candy, Editor-in-Chief, ELLE UK says:

"We are delighted that Bradley will be able to pick up his ELLE Style Award in person. He is an incredibly popular and accomplished actor whose work resonates across a wide audience. And he is a personality many designers would love to dress." The ELLE Style Awards, 2013 will be hosted by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, the host of Radio 1’s Breakfast Show. Meribeth Parker, Group Publishing Director, Luxury Group, Hearst Magazines UK says: “The ELLE Style Awards continue to go from strength to strength; as one of the biggest events on the fashion calendar in the UK, attracting global talent such as Hollywood stars like Bradley Cooper, and nurturing the best in our industry.” Celebrities to grace the red carpet previously the ELLE Style Awards, include British style icons Naomi Campbell, Carey Mulligan, Thandie Newton, Agyness Deyn, and Victoria Beckham, alongside Hollywood’s elite including Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, Mickey Rourke, Matt Dillon, Penelope Cruz, and Clare Danes. Winners in 2012 included Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Michelle Williams, Nicholas Kirkwood and Mary Katrantzou.

heartthrob ♥

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Well its safe to say my Mollie stalking has become even more intense - I really can't get enough of her outfits, but in my defense...can you blame me? I don't know what it is about Mollie King's style, she always has her fabulous pins out but she still looks incredibly chic and sweet. I know I did an outfit post about Mollie last week, but when I was doing my usual browsing on the Daily Mail (I know the Daily Mail is terrible, but I'm addicted!), I stumbled across this Saturday's news story. How photogenic is this woman! Not only is her make-up incredibly natural looking, but so is her hair - how can she look so dolled up without looking like she's dived headfirst into make-up?! I found it quite a challenge to find a skirt that was similar to Mollie's, her actual skirt is from the American brand Milly NY but it's from their Spring collection so it won't be available anymore :(

As you can see, I've based all the clothes on high street shops, I don't see the point of featuring £4000 outfit ideas when not all of us can afford that - I know I certainly can't... The main shops used for this look are Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Zara and a new online shop that I haven't heard before called Monki - it does ring a bell but I'm not sure! What do you think of this outfit? Have you noticed that Mollie usually wears a baggy top, short skirt and trench coats? She is never seen without her black Prada bag so for all you Mollie fans out there, this Zara office bag is a must! Let me know what your favourite Mollie outfit is - post the link below and I'll find high street options ;) Have a lovely lazy Sunday, I'm going to exercise for a bit (well I'm going to try...) and then watch films.

reprise ♥

Hi girls, how is your week going? My weekend went pretty slow, I bought a few DVDs from Blockbuster with Harri - Something Borrowed is definitely getting watched tonight. I tried to watch all of it last night but I was far too tired. For today's post I wanted to talk about a fabulous new shop called Special Soap Shop - they sell gorgeous, handmade bath goodies. I returned home to find a gorgeous mixture of bath bombs waiting for me in three different combinations. There was 1 rose bath salt and bath bomb, 1 lemon bath bomb and 1 exotic bath bomb. As you can imagine, they smell incredible, I think my favourite one is the lemon.

When I use bath bombs in general, I find that the more easy they are to crumble, the better they react to hot water. I love that they are handmade with lovely natural ingredients, I love using products that don't have any harsh chemicals in them. These bath bombs really are the perfect way to relax, especially with how horrible our weather has been lately! They smell absolutely gorgeous and they are definitely the perfect companion for a magazine, headphones and candles. What are your bath essentials? Let me know what your favourite bath bomb flavour is - visit Special Soap Shop here or here to buy your own special bath bomb!
