through the looking glass ♥



Hello girls, how is your day going? My healthy diet is still going strong – don’t worry, I’m just as surprised as you are. All I want is flat abs, is this too much to ask for?! This week I finally got around to watching Lawless, Tom Hardy is amazing…he's definitely getting added to one of my top actors. Have you seen Lawless yet? Anyway, for today’s post I wanted to talk about my favourite mascaras. Now I do have to say that my lashes are incredibly short and stumbly, when it comes to mascara the brush cannot be brush like...it has to have teeth on it otherwise my lashes will simply not lift or get added volume. I have always wanted to use a mascara brush that adds volume as well as length. Its incredibly hard to get both for me. Does anyone else have this problem? 

Now, my all time favourite mascara has to be L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara – it is fairly new and is being advertised by the gorgeous Eva Longoria at the moment (it's the red tube). Before L’Oreal released this, I actually used the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes. The difference between the two is the length of the brush. The L’Oreal Excess brush is slightly longer and thinner but it still has the same type of brush style. I absoletely love the Million Lashes range, they are perfect with lashes and add extra volume as well as actually giving them a lift. What is your favourite mascara at the moment? belonging ♥

 
Hello Fairytale Kissers, isn’t the week going quickly?! It feels like today has whizzed past, I feel incredibly proud that I didn't eat the entire chocolate stash in my kitchen today. Cold weather and boredom = giant pig out for Jade. I’m determined to be healthy this week! Well to get technical, I want to be healthy for longer than a week… I’m feeling something a little different for today’s post, I want to focus on a gorgeous bag that I bought while shopping in Bromley. I came across this bag a few weeks ago but it was alas, £60. Now remember I’ve been in poor student mode for 3 years so jumping onto a £60 leather bag is a lot harder than it sounds for me… So I was incredibly happy when I again came across this bag for only £30. God bless January sales.

As you can see, it has a very big Chanel inspiration to it. It was made in Florence in Italy and it’s made from genuine leather. The feel and quality of the bag is unbelievable, I love the inside storage layout to! The annoying thing is, its not actually from a store, it's from a market type of shop which means you won't be able to find it anywhere, sorry girls! I'll try to look for some similar designs and post them on here for you! I usually have lots of tote style bags so its nice to go far a nude shoulder bag for a change. dead end ♥


Hello girls, how is everyone's Tuesday going? Although I’m grateful that the snow has disappeared, I don’t appreciate this horrible weather. I’ve stolen my mums umbrella so lets hope my hair stays nice and frizz free ;) I’ve been spraying Batiste on it all morning so it looks much more fresh and poofy – the good kind of poofy. Today I’m off to meet the lovely Natalie from OK! Magazine, she is currently the beauty and health editor so I’m really excited to meet her finally so we can have a catch up about everything. For some reason my camera charger has disappeared but I really would have liked to do an outfit post today! I’m wearing my black leather trousers and white blouse paired with my Zara heels. 


Now because I’m absent from my darling camera today I wanted to focus on my favourite beauty products at the moment, I’m not sure if you agree but I think I’m steering more towards the “subtle yet simple” look. Okay I admit my favourite lipsticks at the moment are quite bold but hey, the purple Kate Moss lipstick reminds me of Wednesday Addams! ;) I am not wearing on liquid liner on my lids at the moment so its quite nice to see the difference between general mascara and eye shadow rather than the whole set. I'd love to see you make your own collage :) Next month I want to do a little Fairytale Kiss beauty awards, I think it would be really nice (or random..) to just finally pick my favourite product for each make-up style! Hi girls, how is everyone's morning going? This is just a quick post today as I'm scheduling more posts for this weekend. I just wanted to share with you a beautiful video from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week - have a look and let me know what you think. I am in love with this car, I think it fits well perfectly with the fashion world. Did you see last years advert? I'm going to compile a giant mood board of all the outfits that have been seen at Mercedes-Benz Fashino Week so bare with me. What I have seen of the collections so far has been absolutely amazing, the designers that have been included range from Anna Sui to Calvin Klein to Donna Karan New York (a personal favourite). reunion ♥

Hi girls, how is your snowy Sunday going? I'm currently listening to the Nicki Minaj album while I type this - The Boys featuring Cassie is definitely one to put on repeat ;) My Sunday morning did start very productive - I wanted to sort out all my clothes and get rid of all the things I didn't need. But it just seems like I've made a bigger mess of my room, sigh. Yesterday I met up with my friend Ashley and we went and had a curry then watched some Al Pacino films - yes, I have boy film taste haha... Walking back home I must have slipped over 5 times, when will this snow go away?! I haven't stepped out of the house this morning, I'll be more adventurous when the sun returns... For today's post I wanted to do a lovely, little outfit post about Mollie King from The Saturdays. I do love this woman. Her style is so chic but cute - I'm not sure if these words mix but Mollie pulls it off effortlessly.
 
Now, I'm not usually a fan of navy blue but this outfit has really changed my mind about the colour. Let's ignore the fact that its snowing and think about wearing this outfit in a few weeks...how celebs can walk around everyday in heeled boots and knee high socks in this weather is beyond me, but she does look amazing. I've tried to find the closest things that resembled Mollie's outfit, it was quite tricky to find the coat! The other items are all high street based, if I had to pick my favourite item from this look, it would have to be the Zara bag. It looks incredibly similar to the iconic Prada bag - minus the price tag of course ;) What do you think of Mollie's outfit? Let me know if you can find any high street versions of her coat. the trial ♥

Hello girls, how is your weekend? I know I said I hated the snow, but I think I've found a good use for it - it gives me a fabulous excuse to be lazy indoors. I'm incredibly relaxed with my ipod on and my big duvet wrapped around me. Has the snow changed your plans at all? For today's post, I wanted to talk about Fashion For Home. I was suggested this website and I really wasn't disappointed when I clicked on it, the products on here are absolutely gorgeous - I really find unique furniture another great way to spice up your room (besides from my clothes and make-up)! It's not just clothes and cosmetics I'm obsessed with - it's furniture too. I've put together a little wish list from their website, and as you can see I think I have a very particular taste.
 
I really think the Poetique Range is gorgeous, the collection looks incredibly sophisticated and adds an antic feel. I love white and nude colour furniture, I just like how uncomplicated it all looks. I am not really a big fan on futuristic themed furniture, for some reason I like really old looking furniture. If I had to pick one favourite item from my wish list, it would have to be the Adorna White Chest - it's a gorgeous design. Good evening girls, how is your Friday going? I hope you've all had safe journeys with the snow falling constantly today... We all know I'm not a fan of snow so you can imagine that I was not pleased when I got caught at the start of it all -_- Why can't we have any random heat waves in January?! When I came home, I got on with more work (no rest for the wicked) and then I took my dog for a walk in the woods. She loves the snow, I couldn't keep up with her - and before you ask, yes...I have fallen over countless times today.  For today's post, I wanted to review the YoungBlood Mineral Basic's Kit in Tan - this is the ultimate product for flawless skin. Now, I want to say first off, that I am a huge fan of maximum coverage when it comes to using face products. I am really not keen on "the natural look".

I really don't think I suit subtle make-up, but I know that wearing heavy make-up can take its toll on your pores. This is where the YoungBlood Mineral Kit comes in - the mineral formula is incredibly light on your skin but it still provides a flawless and even coverage without it being cakey. I have yet to find a mineral foundation that can actually create a lovely and even coverage until now. The set contains 2 foundations, 1 blusher and 1 setting powder - these starter kits are available in 4 different shades that can match your particular skin tone. I really recommend this mineral kit if you are looking for a more natural product that still creates great coverage but without the heavy formula. darla ♥


Hi girls, hope you are having a lovely Thursday. I made sure I brought a giant cardigan in work today – along with lots of comfort food! Why do I always eat so much when it’s cold?! Last night me and the best friend ran around Sainsbury’s , before you ask, no I didn't go healthy… We then dyed her hair a gorgeous brown but seeing as her hair was platinum blonde it was quite a dramatic change. I think she looks amazing with brunette and blonde hair, I was just excited to put darker toned make-up on her...We all know I'm addicted to dark brows! For today's post, I wanted to talk about Valentine's Day...now, I'm not usually pro Valentines girl but I love pink and pretty products.

I really want to do a nice lingerie post for Valentine's Day - in a non creepy way of course. I really like this collage that I've put together, I'm usually rubbish at making them so I think I've outdone myself this time ;) If I had to pick one product, it would have to be the Doll WonderStyler, it is such an amazing flat iron and I love that it can style synthetic hair so you save money from buying real hair extensions! I've never really seen any white coated flat irons so it's a nice and refreshing change! Have you used Doll Haircare products before? guise will be guise ♥


Hi girls, how is everyone's week going? It is unbelievably cold - I'm sat in the office with a coat on at the moment, why oh why can't I be on a beach somewhere? As you all know, I'm not a fan of the cold, or the snow. Apparently there is going to be a blizzard this weekend...Oh joy. I'm wrapping up nice and warm but I still need to look for some nice gloves, (yes, I say this after Winter..). Last night I went and had my nails done at a lovely salon in Bromley - I wanted a change from pink so I've got a lovely matte brown on today. I look incredibly nineties at the moment - I love it! After finishing off my sushi, I'm about to have Tropicana juice, healthy Jade ;). For today's post I wanted to talk about an event that I went to on Monday night. The Fellowship Master class was held in a hotel by Regent Park and it was basically a night where 6 hairdressers came and demonstrated their skills and techniques on 6 models. It was amazing watching them perform and really go through the techniques used in detail.

If that wasn't enough, we actually got to meet John Frieda! He discussed his history of his salon and how he has become the popular brand he is today. I failed miserably at trying to get a close up photo of him (technically I got his shoulder..) but I'm still so happy I got to meet him and hear about his life in the hairdressing industry. I feel incredibly lucky to get invited to these events, I love learning about the new styles and methods in the hairdressing industry - plus bumping into John Frieda is always a plus ;) I got to see the gorgeous Yesmin O'Brien from the seanhanna salon, she is off to Milan soon for Milan  Fashion Week, how amazing is her job?! For tonight's plan I am having a movie night with the best friend...lets hope I eat healthy. Have a lovely afternoon girls, let me know what posts you would like to see!

dear boy ♥

Good evening girls, how is everyone's Sunday going? I do believe I have been absent this week from the blogging world - my apologies everyone! I have been incredibly busy at work and to keep myself nice and sane I've been relaxing every evening and catching up on my Child Called It trilogy (I'm addicted to these books!), I have also been watching Hollyoaks, going shopping and eating far too much food! This weekend I had an optician appointment and it turns out I need glasses, so expect a glasses post coming soon ;) I saw a lovely pair of reading glasses from Vogue but they were £200..um, are glasses always this expensive?! Anyway, for today's post I wanted to focus on bags, bags and more bags. I've had my eye on quite a few and I do think they add a bit of glamour and sparkle to an outfit ;) The ones I'm lusting after are pretty simple, I don't think I like complex looking bags. I am crazy about the Doll QuickDry Brush (featured in the H&M section) - it's great for styling your hair and the carbon barrel makes the hair dry 50% faster! 


Although the bright pink H&M one is quite bold hehe. They will go with any outfit though! I've just put a few basic items for each bag - these are the usual things I carry around in my bag, although I do have a bad habit of not binning receipts... Hair serum, pens, headphones - you name it, I carry it around with me. I always over pack my bags, is this just me? What bag is your favourite? 1, 2, 3 or 4? untouched ♥


Hi girls, how is everyone's Tuesday going? It feels a lot warmer today - or maybe its just because I've got a giant coat on... Again for lunch I am eating my beloved sushi, why oh why doesn't Boots do a giant tray?! Moving on from my love for sushi, I spent last night watching Strardust and I actually exercised! I did weights for 20 minutes, trampoline for 45 and then I did 20 sit ups - I know this doesn't sound much, but I seriously can't remember the last time I attempted exercise. I've managed to do it 5 nights in a row so I'm pretty pleased with myself ;) What keeps you motivated when you do your exercise routine? For today's post I wanted to focus on make-up...a big surprise I know. In particular, Victoria's Secret. Now, we all know how obsessed I am with these gorgeous ladies, it's pretty hard to pick one element what I like about them, but for today I will focus on the make-up. 

I have watched countless videos about them, you name it, I've watched the Youtube video and from what I can see, I don't think Victoria's Secret gets enough coverage in British magazines. I know Miranda Kerr is always in the more!'s and Look's but I'm talking about the pictures above. The preparation before the catwalk! So I hope you like what I've put together, I've tried to mix in high street with designer products, I obviously didn't want to feature just Victoria's Secret products for the make-up look! first impressions ♥

Hi girls, how is everyone's Monday doing? I can't believe how fast the weekend went... While I did fit in some exercise and blog posts, I did watch quite a few films - which brings me to today's blog post. I think a lot can be said for how we dress and what inspires us. An outfit is part of people's first impression of us - it is what helps create stereotypes and different cliques. Well, when I was watching Batman Returns on Sunday, I really couldn't stop thinking about Selina Kyle's character and how her persona changed when she transformed into Catwoman by wearing the iconic PVC outfit. I actually did an essay on how PVC empowers women for my third year at university so I thought it would be nice to do a blog post about it. I love clothes that create a look and impact without the person to have to say anything.

I especially love strong, independent women who are hardworking and career driven. So, I created some outfits that I think look very, very smart and full of girl power!  Nothing says success better than how you look, although this sounds very materialistic, it is somewhat true. For me, wearing smart clothes that are fitted right, make me feel good. So let me know what you think of these outfits, do you agree that clothes can make you feel empowered? are you now or have you ever been ♥

 
I have been super productive this morning, I mean really, productive. I woke up, exercised for half an hour (my plan is to do more in a few hours), I took photos for posts this week, I made my dad breakfast (kind deed for the day) and now I'm going to organise my room. After the Christmas holiday's I was pretty relaxed and always full of food, so its nice to see myself getting back into a routine. Last night I watched an insane amount of Essex with Harry (don't ask) then we had a very large amount of KFC - it's so bad, but it taste so goood! Lets hope this week I'll stay away from fast food... Anyway, for today's post I wanted to talk about my babies. Not actual babies, I mean my babies. I am of course talking about my Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Lip Stain collection. I didn't think you could fit glamour and sophistication all in one product but then lo and behold, the Pur Couture collection was born.
 
Besides from the sleek and sophisticated packaging, lets talk about the actual formula of the lip stain. Now, what I find so unique about this YSL range is the texture of the lip product. It's feels exactly like a regular lip stain, but it has a combined creamy formula that adds body, texture and richness to your lips. It's incredibly hard to get around that this collection has combined a lip gloss, lipstick and lip stain all together in one. I think it is absolutely amazing for creating a beautiful and elegant bold lip. My favourite shade has to be number 14. It's perfect for adding extra glamour to your look. war zone ♥

Hi girls, hope you're weekend is going well - how quick has this week gone? I think it's just because I've only had work for 3 days - I'm still not used to waking up at 8am everyday. The Christmas holidays went so quickly! My plan for today is to celebrate my sister's 19th birthday - I bought her a Micheal Jackson calender with some make-up goodies, books, perfume and a Pandora charm. She finally got her Ray Ban's so she is incredibly happy right now. Harry is round at the moment and he is still trying to make me see The Hobbit. Have you seen it? I'm really not keen on the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy.
 
For today's post I wanted to talk about the Phytomer brand - they are a French skin care brand that have the most amazing creams and products to suit whatever your skin type is. I'm really not keen about this summer with bikini season dawning on us, but I've put together a little diet S.O.S kit. I know it's important to keep a balanced diet and exercise but these Phytomer products seem to also do the trick! I love that they actually have products to drink and to put in your bath to help clean your skin cells. Healthy and easy to use! You can see all of the Phytomer goodies at Salon Skin Care. eternity ♥

My whole body is aching at the moment, exercise is not my friend. Seeing as I haven't lifted a weight in about 6 months, you could say I'm a little rusty. Which brings me to my main point for today's blog post...the start of 2013 is all about change and new beginnings right? Well, I thought I'd go through my New Year Resolutions and talk about the ones I made in 2012 - so I'll show you the ones I posted this exact time last year - eep!
To graduate with a 2:1
♥ Learn how to drive after I finish uni
Don't waste time on people who don't really appreciate me
Get a job working for a fashion/beauty industry...even if I have to just make tea and coffee at first ;)
♥ To fall in love again
♥ Exercise and eat healthy for longer than 5 minutes
Buy more clothes rather than make-up I already have!
To always carry a bottle of water with me
To read the rest of 'The Child Called It' books

Okay, so this is what I wrote last year, I am so, so happy that I graduated with a 2:1 and I didn't even think I would get a high 1st for my dissertation so I am over the moon with that first resolution! The driving part..mehh, I need to save a bit before I start lessons! I am also incredibly happy with myself that I've bought a good amount of clothes this year, I've stopped buying make-up that I already have and I've really started working on my wardrobe, I hope by the end of next year it will be full of lovely Zara and Mango goodies! ;) I'm half way through 'The Child Called It' trilogy so I know I will read them all soon,  I read the entire 50 Shades trilogy in 2 weeks and American Psycho so I am improving my reading rate here! The images above are all things to keep you motivated and ready to start 2013! Now my new resolutions for next year are:
