disharmony ♥

Afternoon all! How is everyone’s Friday going? I’m feeling a tad icky today, I had far too much Chinese last night so I’m eating something pretty small for lunch – sushi. Ahh how much I love sushi, I have a terrible feeling I’m going to be hungry in 5 minutes though… What keeps you from raiding the chocolate shelf in the shops? Last night, I saw my friend Ashley and we watched Bridget Jones (well I did, he didn’t) then we watched The Expendables. As I went home, I couldn’t believe how cold it was! I’m generally in shock at how freezing I was, oh how I miss summer time. For today’s post I wanted to take a look at a current offer from L’Oreal Paris. When you spend £15 or more on L’Oreal products, you get this gorgeous little Dress Up In Diamonds box. Inside, you get the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara, a red lipstick, pearl nail varnish and a few small sized sample products. I think it’s unbelievable value and when you think about it, it works out around £2.50 for each product. How amazing is that?! The actual products I bought were mascara and a nail varnish so you definitely get your money back with another mascara and nail varnish!

When it comes to the Christmas season, it’s the perfect time to be glitzy and glam, so I definitely think it’s all about the make-up ;) Red lips are back with a bang this season so I think its time for me to embrace darker lip shades. Usually I’m a nude or bronze kind of girl, but the L’Oreal lipstick is gorgeous so it’s empowering me to be daring! I’m incredibly happy with the L’Oreal mascara too - I think the Million Lashes mascara is my absolute favourite. I have terribly stubborn lashes and to top it off, this week my usual mascara (the Rimmel Scandal Eyes) died a painful death. I feel much more myself now my lashes in coated in L’Oreal! Have you bought this L’Oreal offer yet? I’m not sure how long it will last so get to your Boot’s now! I’m not sure if it’s available in Superdrug actually, I’ll have to do some snooping around. I’m back to work now and then tonight I am in full pyjama night mode – my yummy sushi pyjamas are calling!

soulless ♥

Oh dear, I've found a pack of cookies - and when I say pack, I mean two packs... This won't end well. But on the plus side, I'm waiting for the microwave to ping so I can make my hot chocolate ;) Isn't hot chocolate and cookies the best ever combination?!....Okay, so I've just gotten the hot milk and I've somehow managed to make it explode in the microwave. How?! Who screws up using a microwave! Anyway, moving on from my fabulous cooking skills...todays post is based on an outfit that Kourtney Kardashian wore a few weeks ago. Now due to Kanye's meddling in Kim's wardrobe, Kourtney is fastly becoming my favourite Kardashian style icon. Her clothes are so sophisticated and glam! What I love about this particular outfit is the casual hint of summer paired with a large white coat. The floral trousers add a nice mixture to the whole collaboration and I think she looks absolutely gorgeous. I must say, it was incredibly hard trying to find a pair of trousers that looked similar to Kourntney's so if anyone can find a pair that looks closer, please feel free to add the link in a comment! The main shops that I used for these items were Topshop, Boohoo, Bobbi Brown, New Look and BASErange. What do you think of this look? Are you starting to prefer Kourtney's style to Kim's like me? Leave a comment below girls! Have a lovely lunch

i've got you under my skin ♥

Hi girls, how is your lunch going? I've just had a delicious Boots meal deal and I'm currently drinking pink Vitamin Water...I hope its healthy. My plan for tonight is to get snuggled up in my duvet, watch The Devil Wears Prada and again, drink my body weight in hot chocolate. What is everyones plans for tonight? For today's post, I wanted to have a quick recap on the past week, the main thing was...I graduated! See..there's me with my little hat on! Not the most flattering outfit but hey, I'm a graduate now ;) My other highlights of last week was going to the Donna Karan show (eeep!), seeing Harri and running around the Disney shop, being uploaded onto Look online and drinking lots and lots of coconut water. If it's good enough for Rihanna.. My mum and dad bought me a lovely Pandora bracelet with a little cap charm on it, I haven't taken it off! Did anyone else graduate last week?

This week I've been pretty busy at work and with scheduling blog posts, but it's all a good type of busy, I'd be worried if I didn't have anything to do! On the weekend I watched the incredibly scary film Sinister, if you want a scary film, I recommend it..but with lots of pillows and teddies around you! I also pigged out again on McDonald's and Nandos. Woops! I've got some great things to feature this week, especially things that are health based. Yes, Jade..trying out healthy things! Well I'm back to work and trying to start up a new Anti-Ageing Health and Beauty show, if you could all be dears and give the page a like for me, that would be amazing! :) Have a lovely afternoon girls, let me know what graduation presents you got!

five by five ♥

Good evening girls, how are we doing this cold, miserable Tuesday? I've spent my time after work watching The September Issue with Anna Wintour (if you haven't seen it yet, I really recommend you do..) and I've been drinking my body weight in hot chocolate. For today's post, I wanted to strictly feature bags from House of Fraser, particularly the designer brands. I really don't think its possible to fall in love with so many bags at the same time. The bag range that House of Fraser have, including the brand, style and colour, really are inspiring. From Michael Kors to Karen Millen, there are countless bags to chose from. I think I have quite a particular taste in bags, I really like the colour tone to speak for itself and the size to be fairly large. I don't think I would say I'm a small bag lover, I believe bags should balance out an outfit and show of the sleek design and features.

Other than that, I don't think my make-up bag would be able to fit in a tiny clutch... If I had to pick my absolute favourite bag, it would be the Karen Millen Tan Luxury Shopper. This is definitely on top of my wish list, and I'm placing this bag on my most wanted! What I love about House of Fraser is that they sell a beautiful range of designers, especially ones that are considered to be high fashion. I really don't think you can go wrong with a beautiful bag, to me, they really do make your outfit complete and I think bags do go in and out of season. Let me know what your favourite bag is, I'll make sure I attach the link for you. What is the one thing a good bag must have? Is the brand, colour or style most important to you when shopping for a bag? Leave a comment below! Have a lovely evening girls, I'm back to watching the rest of The September Issue and I'll be having a hot, hot, hot bath tonight. ♥

i fall to pieces ♥

Last Wednesday night at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, the fabulous Yesmin O'Brien and her team from seanhanna were busy backstage preparing the army of models for the long anticipated Donna Karan runway show. The guests arrived at half 6 on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols, and they were catered with champagne and canapés while the show was being prepared back stage. To start with the make-up, Tom Ford was a huge factor with regards to the products being used, the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad was the main product used to create a "nude neutral" look. Everything was incredibly subtle (it make me feel slightly cakey sitting in a room with models getting their make-up done by professional make-up artists...) and it matched perfectly with the hair. The hairstyles were perfectly sleek pony tails that defined the term "sleek chic", hair extension pieces were inserted to create a fuller pony tails. The L'Oreal techni art range were used to create the base and protection for the hairstyles, while the make-up artists kept perfecting the nude make-up.

The main products to look out for are L'Oreal Techni Spray and the Fix Design spray. Protection spray and nossled hairdryers were the main tools used to create the pony tailed look, the seanhanna team were able to transform the models perfectly and effortlessley, even amongust all the stress and panic backstage! Hairspray was rubbed between their palms and also sprayed directly on the brush to create incredibly straight and shiny hair, the look was incredibly structured. The flat irons were constantly at the ready to help complete the look. With the final touch ups being made, tissue was neatly pinned over the pony tail and front of the hair to keep everything in place. I think the inspiration for the catwalk show was definitely late 90's, it was incredibly structured and glossy, the pony tails were created to work with Yesmin and her hair team to adapt to Donna Karan's liking and the actual style of the show. It was amazing to see everything finally being put together, when the final show started the VIP guests waited to see the gorgeous designs from Donna. Donna actually took to the stage and explained each look and gave insight to her inspirations. What do you think of Donna's designs? Have you got any tips or tricks to create a perfect ponytail like the seanhanna team?

conviction ♥

Hi girls, hope you're having a good Saturday. I am currently typing away on my laptop, while trying to eat grapes - not as easy as it sounds! For today's post I wanted to look at the website Achica - I really, really enjoyed doing my last interior post so when Achica got suggested to me, I though I'd take a look. I don't know whether its because I've gotten older or because I did live by myself for 3 years at uni, but I love, love, love interior design! I love how there are so many different things to decorate you're house with and I think you can personalise things to suit your personality. Achica sell countless products for your house including your bathroom, bedroom, living room and just general things that make your house look pretty! Yes, I am easily pleased. I picked out my favourite items, if I had to pick one, it would definitely have to be the Banksy picture at the bottom. I'm determined to buy this canvas for my bedroom. This is what I really like about these items, they really personalise your house and bring some fun into it! I think your house, particularly your bedroom is a place where you can really experiment and show off your personality. If I had to have one main thing to decorate my room with, it would have to be candles. Lots and lots of candles! What would be your ultimate bedroom accessory? Hope you're having a lovely weekend girls, this post has actually inspired me to tidy my room! ♥

parting gifts ♥

Hi all, hope you're having a good week! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I've been a busy little bee at work. Tomorrow is a huge day for me because I am graduating from university! I'll officially have earned a 2:1 degree and a 1st for my dissertation, so pleased that all my hard work has paid off, are any of you graduating this week? I'll be honest, I'm really not looking forward to wearing the little hat and gown -_- but I'm wearing a plain leather dress, so hopefully I'll look like Batman walking around haha. What?! Everyone likes Batman! Anyway...I have to wake up extra early to get down to Southampton tomorrow, I hope I don't get all teary eyed going back there. It was my home for 3 years so I think it's pretty strange that it will be the last time I'll be there. On Saturday, Harri from uni came down and we went to see Breaking Dawn part 2, um I'll be honest here, without wanting to make the Twilight fans angry, I really wasn't impressed with it.

Although I did enjoy making moon eyes and Edward Cullen for 2 hours, I found the plot..well, dull. I won't give anything away, but I hope those of you who have seen it already will agree with me. I did really like Kristen Stewart's outfits at each of the premiere though. She did look amazing and I think that's pretty big of me, seeing as I am not very fond of Kristen Stewart. What did you think of her outfits? For today's post, I just wanted to keep it short and sweet! I have been put on Look online for the ASOS challenge and I would love for you to take 2 minutes to vote for me, well to press "like" from your Facebook ;) I entered 3 different catorgories, hair, fashion and nails. Thank you so much for those who have already voted for me! :) Hope you have a lovely girls, I'm back to work and then tonight I am preparing everything for graduation - eep :S Let me know what you think of Breaking Dawn and if you prefer Jacob or Edward ;)

in the dark ♥

Christmas at home or abroad? Winter sun vs. White Christmas

For many, Christmas is a time to return home and enjoy quality time with family and friends. Eating festive treats, buying a tree and adorning the house with Christmas decorations are just some of the traditions which make a great British Christmas. However, the unpredictability of our weather, coupled with an overloaded transport system, means that spending Christmas abroad can be a more appealing prospect for some. But can the lure of sun, sea and sand really trump the traditional festivities at home? An estimated 4.25 million Brits are expected to jet off on holiday this Christmas. Popular destinations include Mexico and the Caribbean, with their guarantee of a warm climate and tropical surroundings. These may seem like pricey options, but cheap deals and promotional offers are still available and continue to tempt last-minute bookers. British Airways has even introduced a new online payment deposit scheme, allowing holidaymakers to secure their package for a fixed fee and then save gradually until departure to cover the rest of the cost.

Short-haul destinations can also deliver on winter sun for those looking to get away on a budget. The mild climate in places like Tenerife and Casablanca makes them popular winter holiday destinations, and with several low-cost airlines offering regular flights, they are affordable options too. A recent survey by supermarket chain Morrisons found that British families expect to spend an average of almost £500 on Christmas, with many planning to spend far more. Making savings on things like festive food and drink can mean that taking a holiday is a financially wise move, especially if the trip counts as a Christmas gift to members of the family. Despite the draw of winter sun, there are many reasons to stay at home this Christmas. After a summer of legendary sporting success, a more upbeat atmosphere continues. High street sales rose during October and online and catalogue orders increased by over 40%. This will put a smile on the faces of retailers, and shoppers too have reason to feel positive. Rather than escaping Christmas present shopping by taking a holiday, why not make the experience a pleasure by visiting one of the many German-style Christmas markets held across the country? Mulled wine, mince pies and carol singers create a warm, festive atmosphere that's unlikely to be matched in any beachside destination.

For many, Christmas revolves around friends and family: a reason to get together, exchange gifts and put any differences aside. In a 2011 survey by ComRes, 8 out of 10 people questioned agreed that Christmas is about spending time with friends and family: helping to prepare Christmas dinner with parents, decorating a tree with the kids and opening gifts together all help to make Christmas at home an unbeatable experience. Even the chilly weather in the UK can be embraced by staying in and enjoying British TV specials galore - the BBC is set to show favourites like Doctor Who, Strictly Come Dancing, Eastenders and Call The Midwife, whilst ITV will attempt to outshine these offerings with the much loved Downton AbbeyA positive financial outlook at home and the unique traditions our country has to offer make staying at home a great option this Christmas. Focus festivities on family and friends, embrace the chilly weather, and maybe consider jetting off in the New Year to beat those January blues!

hush ♥

Hi girls, how is your Monday going? I struggled to step out of my warm duvet this morning, but when I finally got myself ready, I found myself feeling much more aware and brighter when I had some green tea. I think this may be the first time in history, where I actually like something healthy for me! :O Anyway, for today's post I wanted to touch on my two favourite trends for this Autumn/Winter - of course we all know that leather is a constant favourite of mine (even in the hot weather...) so it comes as no surprise that I would include it in today's post. Everything I have featured in this post either comes from Topshop, Victoria Beckham or H&M. I think there may be a few exceptions but just let me know what items you like and I'll send the actual link to you ;) Now, whenever I see leather, I see the 90's. A very important era for fashion, and definitely one of my favourites from the overview of fashion history. It's fun, funky and it definitely marches to the beat of its own drum - yes, I do have to mention Buffy in this part..Buffy the Vampire Slayer captures 90's fashion perfectly, including leather back packs and tight fitted leather trousers.

They really are meant for everyone's wardrobe - why do you think I'm so obsessed with it?! As for the cobalt blue, well I definitely think this branches out of my comfort zone, as my sister said to me Saturday night, as she was trying to raid my wardrobe "I can't wear any of your clothes Jade, you always look like you're dressing for a funeral." Yes, it is true - I don't wear much colour, but as former Wednesday Addam's junior, I do really like this blue trend. I think it goes well with any hair or skin tone and adds instant glamour to an outfit - perfect for any Christmas parties that are coming up ;) Let me know what you think of these trends girls, I know none of you are surprised I've included leather haha. Hope you're having a lovely evening! Leave a comment and tell me what trend you prefer

the gift ♥

Hi girls, again you can picture me right now, eating my lettuce salad huddled against my duvet - yes, I am continuing my depressing healthy eating diet. Yum! -_- I can't believe how quickly this week has gone, it's Saturday! I'm having a lovely lazy weekend, I have been snuggled up in my duvet while reading glossy magazines and watching Batman cartoons - so basically the same to what I do every week... Like I said yesterday, I am in a incredibly organised mood, yes, this is very odd. So I thought I would invest in a new Diary to schedule blog posts, shopping wish lists and my other crazy ramblings. Luckily, I got contacted by the lovely team at Utterly Personal and as soon as I went onto their website, this pretty little thing caught my attention. I think this pretty much sums me up totally, still a 90's girl at heart. Do you remember Bang On The Door as a child too? Utterly personal do a range of different gifts and gadgets that can put your name on anything - pretty nifty ;) I'm going to be using this for all my little blogging needs and I love how organised and structured the pages are - perfect for the new year. Have you started looking for a new diary yet? Let me know what ones you come up with, yes, mine had to be pink with a cartoon on it... What did you expect for me? ;) Hope you're having a great weekend girls, pop onto Utterly Personal to see what other goodies you find! ♥

tough love ♥

I'm feeling pretty organised this week, which is a very rare occasion - I think relaxed and calm is another way to describe 'the life of Jade' right now. I'm in bed typing this (I'm typing this on Monday, for Tuesday's post - see, told you I was being organised!), while listening to Usher's new Numb song and waiting for my sister to find my Valentine DVD. Yes, yes I know - Valentine is a god awful film but I can't help but love it! David Boreanaz was my first crush okay, I have to love this film! Ahem, moving on... Today at work I got to go to a TIGI workshop which showed off their new highlighting technique, it was amazing watching the team work their magic, it has also made me very aware of how bad my hair is...woops! So far my week has consisted of buying Batman comics, running around the Disney shop and eating a lot of Nando's. Oh, don't forget watching Batman cartoons of course - what can I say, I'm obsessed ;) Of course there was the fabulous seanhanna awards, still can't believe how spectacular the show was!

My plan for tonight is to watch Valentine (hehehe it really is awful) and have a boiling hot bath, definitely something to beat this Winter weather. It might be slightly hard to do this though when my 10 stone Ridgeback is shaking on my lap from the fireworks... Oh dear. She is such a little pussycat. This breed is supposed to hunt lions but here Kaya is, crying on my lap. Very brave ;) How are your pooches holding up with all these fireworks?! And you'll be all pleased to know that I really am starting my healthy diet (again...), I ate every fast food you could imagine last week. Not good! So I'm back to being healthy girl tomorrow! Thank you for all my new followers, let me know if I haven't followed your blog yet! :) Have a lovely Tuesday girls, I'll be doing some product reviews and wish lists this week - exciting stuff ;) ♥

chosen ♥

Hi girls, how is your Monday going? It is unbelievably freezing! To distract myself from this horrible weather, I’ve been reading some amazing blogs. Quite a few of them have featured interior design posts and even though I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now, I don’t think I’ve ever featured furniture in a post! So, I thought it would be nice to show off some fabulous items that I would include in my ‘dream house’. Now as a label lover, if I had to pick any brand to design my house with, it would have to be the Donna Karan Lenox range. The best way to describe this collection is glamorous and classy. The collection really is gorgeous, they remind me of something you see in a Hollywood film – very Marilyn Monroe ;)  It has a very unique look, as it's described in the collection "International Cuisine" so you know that different elements of cultures have been put into designing this fabulous set. I’ve put together a little collection of all of my favourite pieces, it was quite hard picking my favourites but I hope you like what I’ve selected.
I think my favourite piece has to be the Gold Dust Serve Bowl, I have a huge obsession with gold so I think its safe to say, that my future house will be full of gold plates, mirrors, picture frames, lamps - you name it, I'll have everything gold. I love, love, love the Abstract Coral – Candle Holders. I am a huge fan of candles because I think they add a lot of sophistication to a room. What do you think is the best item I’ve put on this post? Do you think this collection matches Donna’s signature style as a designer? Let me know what things you would use to decorate your room with, please include the candle so I feel less candle obsessed..haha. Hope you enjoyed this post girls, I think it’s a nice change to go to the designer side of interior ;) ♥

new year, new you ♥

With New Year’s Eve only a couple of months away, thoughts about what we are going to wear on the biggest party night of the year are already beginning to enter our minds. New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to dress up to the max and battle it out to be the belle of the ball, but if you’re having difficulty deciding what to wear then the following advice could give you the inspiration you need...
The most stylish letters in the fashionable world, the LBD (Little Black Dress) is found in most wardrobes. This timeless outfit is incredibly versatile, suiting all types of New Year celebration. When worn with a pair of dangerously high stilettos it is the ultimate party outfit and is guaranteed to cause a few glances to come your way on New Year’s Eve. Paired with flat shoes and an elegant shawl, it could also be perfectly suited for a sophisticated dinner party.

When it comes to choosing what type of evening dresses you want to wear when the clock strikes midnight, look no further than a sparkly dress. The last night of the year is all about going over the top and getting noticed, so why not paint the town red in a sparkly dress? Whether it’s long, short, sleeveless or backless, so long as it sparkles you’re guaranteed to get noticed. Heels are a great option once again but you might want to select something with minimal detailing and plain colours so as not to detract attention from your dress or look overdone.

These one-piece fashion staples hug the skin tightly and typically have long sleeves and full length bottoms with a tantalising zip at the back. A bold fashion choice for most nights of the year, at New Year these are a great option – especially for anyone attending a themed party. Providing you’ve not eaten too many mince pieces and turkey sandwiches over Christmas and can still fit into this figure-hugging garment, the catsuit will certainly raise a few pulses. For the ultimate glamorous look, opt for PVC or leather material and grab a pair of tight leather boots to finish the outfit.
New Year’s Eve attire doesn’t have to be confined to evening dresses. A pair of leather trousers will make you look wholly glamorous whilst you wave goodbye to another year. Stilettos and a brightly coloured top will give your leather trousers the justice they deserve in the glamour stakes. ♥
