away with the wolves ♥

Right now I’m currently finishing off a tub of salt and vinegar Pringles - I’m sure I’ll start doing my ‘eat healthy’ plan any day now… My mum has just come back from food shopping so this definitely doesn’t seem likely. This week has gone quite slow, which is annoying because I want Saturday to hurry up! It’s my best friends 21st and she’s having a fancy dress theme birthday at her house – I think I’ve rambled about this in a few posts before… I’m going as Red Riding Hood so I’m really excited! I even bought a basket yesterday, just to add the full effect ;) I thought I’d include my dog Kaya in this post - she could dress up as the wolf ;) Tonight I’m going out for a meal then running over to Emma’s tomorrow to help decorating, she’s dressing up as Barbie so pink will be covering every inch of the house haha :) I’ve spent this week eating (as usual), doing my feminism feature and doing final research for my Final Major Project – my to do list still isn’t getting any shorter though… I’ve been home for a week now and it does feel lovely being back in London, plus having my mums cooking is always a plus ;)

My plan for today is to make my red riding hood cape, wash my hair, tan for tomorrow and then go for my meal tonight. Has anyone got any fun plans for this weekend? It’s been such nice weather here lately so I think we should be taking full advantage! I’m just about to rummage through my mums food shopping, but I will have a few posts prepared that will feature more spring/summer themed outfits. I’d also like to say and massive thank you for everyone who has followed my blog – I can’t believe I have a thousand followers! Seeing as Fairytale Kiss is barely a year old, I’m really amazed how much you all like reading it, so thank you. ♥

How To Wear - Tunics ♥

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Well I am finally back home in London, ah it feels so nice to be back in my house! My dog Kaya is already annoyed because I keep following her around - she loves me really ;) I got really emotional packing some of my uni stuff up, I'm only home for a month but I'm taking quite a few bits back because when I'm back from Easter, I only have three weeks left in Southampton. It's a very odd feeling...I don't like that I'll be leaving my life at Southampton - can't I stay longer?! On the plus side, the food in my house is always amazing, I'll be the size of a hippo by the time I have to go back! I'm currently listening to Katy Perry's - Part of Me, the video is amazing and very inspiring, we all know how I love my girl power attitude. Also, you'll all be pleased to know that I've actually painted my nails neatly today! I know - it's about time haha. Last night I was finally reunited with my best friend Emma, we watched What's your number with Chris Evans - yummy. We also ate our body weight in ice cream and now I'm feeling slightly guilty...not very healthy Jade.
Anyway, for today's post, I wanted to do another How to Wear edition, these are just how I would personally wear these items. I think every girl needs one of these basic Topshop tunics - you can dress it up pretty much anyway you want to. I love this grey one because the colour and fabric is so neutral, you can make it casual or smart, so it's perfect for spring/summer. For the first outfit, I wanted it to be casual but still edgy, I love, love, love the clutch bag. Unfortunately I couldn't find the direct link for it, but it's from BCBG. It's gorgeous! The wedges are from the fabulous Missguided and the bracelet and denim jacket are also from Topshop. I'm really into tribal/Aztec style bracelets lately, I love how they add texture to any outfit. I wanted to include the Vera Wang Princess Night perfume not just because of how pretty the bottle is (but that's partly the reason...) but because I am a big fan of Vera's Princess range.
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

I'm finding it hard to pick my favourite item from this outfit - maybe the Topshop wedges? This outfit would be perfect for sitting outside a bar and drinking a few cocktails with the girls. I'm planning on doing this plan tomorrow actually...wish I had this outfit though! Apart from the Ray-Ban Wayfarer's and blazer, everything is from Topshop - including the fabulous bag with the brown handles, I think the bag has got quite an Aztec vibe to it. I can definitely seeing tribal prints coming back for the summer - I'm already looking for a tribal play suit! Let me know what outfit you prefer and if you want any other How to Wear posts. Hope you're having a good weekend girls - I've got quite a few product reviews lined up for you next week! ♥

How to Wear - Black & White Striped Trousers ♥

1. 2. 3. 4.
Today seems to be dragging on incredibly slow, like the snail type of slow, I've just put on Love Song by Sara Bareilles so hopefully this uplifts the tempo of my day. How is your week going? I'm currently stuck in the library blogging and typing up my notes from my law lecture. I met with my tutor earlier and she's really pleased that I'm all finished with my Final Major Project - so am I! I also found out that we come back from Easter on the 16th of April, I only thought I would be home for 2 weeks! Not that I mind, I'm quite looking forward to seeing everyone and most of all - having my mums cooking! I definitely think you can't appreciate your mums cooking until you move out the house, ahhh this is making me even more hungry... She's coming to pick me up on Friday so I have been ordered to pack up half of my stuff to make it easier for may when I finally go home. I think it's safe to say I haven't even taken the bins out today, let alone packed my stuff. I'll do it tonight when I get, sigh. Aside from me purely being lazy, I think I'm a bit hesitant to pack everything because then it really means I'm finishing uni. Living in a cramped house with my mum, dad and siblings isn't as fun as it sounds...
1. 2. 3.

Anyway, I just wanted to do a post on how I would wear these black and white striped trousers from Missguided - aren't they amazing?! I'm not sure if those Topshop heels go with it but I like that it adds a little colour, and because they're quite subtle shades of pink and grey, I think you could get away with it. I had to include that Alexander McQueen clutch bag - I saw it and I've been in love ever since. It matches with the Topshop biker jacket perfectly and finally, I added the crochet vest because I think it adds some texture to it. We all know I can't pull of 'pretty' - I need to have some heels and tight leather somewhere! haha :) For the second outfit, I wanted to mix a bold colour against the stripes - orange is in for Spring this year so I thought now would be a perfect time to feature it. The blazer is from Rag and Bone, I think it matches the River Island heels perfectly - when using block colours, it's always important to have the same shade of orange. This look is really bold and daring but I just love how well it all clashes together - I don't mind clashing clothes every now and then. What do you think, do you prefer the first look or the second? ♥

Steven Seagal, Fangs and Princess Punch ♥

I’m currently sitting next to one of my best friends on my bed – she is getting rather excited with the webcam and is looking at herself while wearing a cartoon hat. I do worry about her sometimes… Again, last week was quite dull due to the fact that I’ve had to eat cereal as dinner – poor as usual, but it was Harri’s birthday, so we all went out dressed as vampires, werewolves or zombies. That was definitely a highlight! You shouldn’t even have to ask what I went as ;) I thought you’d like to see how weird I am in public too, I was very excited to wear my fake fangs – wearing Polygrip was slightly worrying though. Then last night the girls came round and we watched Sydney White with McDonald’s, I had to empty my Princess Belle money box out to get 10ps out for a McFlurry! Oh and I hope you’re all proud, I’ve started doing sit ups before I go to bed and when I wake up – whether I’m doing them right is a completely different story… I’ve also officially finished my first draft of my Final Major Project – 8,000 words about MAC make-up! Woooo.

Apart from watching Steven Seagal films – he really is a martial art legend ;) – I’ve just been taking full advantage of my Disney Princess bed. My nail painting techniques have also improved by a whole percent - and we all know that this is an improvement. Louise and I refused to get out of bed this morning we were both like zombies for the rest of the afternoon. I don’t know why I’ve got no energy recently?! I hope you like my outfit as a vampire, I thought it was quite Katherine style (from Vampire Diaries). The leather zip dress was from H&M, my best friend from home bought it for me as a birthday present :) And I don’t know if you can really tell, but I’m wearing a Missguided nail varnish in a dark red shade. I love this colour! Has anyone else had any fancy dress nights out recently? Tomorrow I’ve got to dress up as a drag queen for my friends birthday – this will be a lot of trouble for me. Anything that’s not Kim Kardashian or vampire inspired and I struggle haha :) Hope you all have a good week girls, I’ll do a post on Thursday on a How to Wear. Is there anything in particular you’d like me to feature, like how I would jeans, leather jackets, blazers etc? Just let me know! :) ♥

River Island & Miss Selfridge ♥

Hi girls, I hope you’ve had a good week. I’m feeling a bit ill today, I think I would feel much better if I could sleep for a whole month haha :) Besides dying from exhaustion (and probably my cooking), I’ve spent this week going to lectures and actually organising my room properly. I seriously wish I had OCD sometimes - I’d love to go crazy and label everything or…alphabetise! My mums picking me up next Friday to go back home to London for three weeks for Easter, I’m so excited to be home for a while. Emma (my best friend from home) is having a fancy dress party for her 21st and I’m going as Red Riding Hood, I’ll take pictures of the costume – I definitely want to buy a new cape though, I don’t really like the texture of this one. Who would you dress as for fancy dress?

For today’s post, I wanted to show off my favourite items from River Island and Miss Selfridges – I am seriously obsessed with stalking their websites recently. I need a money tree! The £60 skirt is absolutely jaw dropping, I think this is what Cinderella would wear if she didn’t have that dress…It slightly reminds me of a mermaid though haha. Basically, I’m like a magpie and admire anything that’s shiny. How easily pleased I am. What is your favourite River Island item? Now, Miss Selfridge has always been one of my favourite shops because its really simplistic but it has little twists to the clothes that makes it stand out. I think the black cut out dress is beautiful, even though it has two gaping holes at each side, I still think it would look very classy if worn right. I’m going to have some sleep and hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow, I’m just looking at my apple juice that’s all the way across my room, sigh. Hope you like what I’ve picked today and thanks to everyone who’s recently followed me!

Inspiration ♥

Hi girls! I hope you've had a good week/end. I went back home for a few days and spent the majority of my time watching Batman cartoons and eating biscuits. My mum took me shopping though and treated me to McDonald's and a L'Oreal lip gloss. It's called Glam Shine and I got shade 300 Golden Tattoo, it's a shimmery bronze colour and as you all know, I'm obsessed with brown lip glosses! Has anyone got any new lip glosses lately? Yesterday I added the finishing touches to a feature I'm working on and started writing down ideas for a political feature - I must admit, politics is a little out of my comfort zone but I'm excited to get started on it! We've got roughly two weeks until we break up for the Easter holidays, I'm pretty excited to go home actually and start my usual ritual of following my dog around. She loves me really ;) For today's post, I wanted to do something different. In my Fashion Freelancer seminar, our lecturer told us we needed to brainstorm our inspirations more because it could help with writing. So, I wanted to show you what I came up with. I had to cut a large majority of the images out because there's not much room on here, but its nothing fancy. Its just what I personally find inspiring for me and as you can see, vampires and Kim Kardashian are very common themes. I love Miss J's quote 'Walk like it's for sale and the rent is due tonight' - you have to admire ANTM :)

I think what inspires me is definitely the idea of being independent and having a career where I can afford to buy what I want. Being a poor student who struggles to buy a Asda meal deal is definitely a low point at the moment, I'm really motivated by wanting to buy things that I've worked for. Girl power! I love how fashion itself is a motivation for me and I think its amazing how fashion can inspire people. Being independent has always been a big thing for me, I can be quite broody and lonerish sometimes but I like that it keeps me focused (some of the time anyway). If you had to come up with a moodboard, what would you say inspires you? Any films, TV shows, actors, designers? Let me know what you come up with! :) I'm back to starting my politics feature - busy, busy, busy! Have a good day girls, speak to you all tomorrow :) ♥

She's With The Vampires ♥

                                                                                                                            Dresses - 1. 2. 3.

Hi girls! You're probably all wondering why I'm doing a vampire themed post, I know some of you may be a tiny bit concerned about me since The Vampire Diaries has gone into a break right now, but I can assure you that I haven't gone crazy. My best friend Harri has decided to have a Vampire vs. Werewolves vs. Zombies fancy dress party for her 21st birthday and as you can all imagine, this event is now the highlight of my year haha. Slightly loserish I know but, I love fancy dress! Especially if vampires are involved. Now, I've decided I want to go as the evil and fabulous Katherine Pierce from the Vampire Diaries so I thought a little research would be in order. I love these missguided dresses - they are perfect for a vampire outfit and you can still wear them on a normal nigh out, so I get a 2 for 1!  Katherine's style is quite simplistic but its quite fitted, so these dresses are ideal! The first dress is my favourite one, adding some stilettos and fangs will definitely fit the Katherine Pierce look!

For my hair, I will have to have my extensions in...it really makes me feel better knowing that they use extensions for some of Katherine's hair styles! My hair is so painfully thin lately, so extensions here we come :( I wish I had naturally thick hair! Anyway, I love these black heels (again from missguided), I thought it would be better to include everything from the same store, as it makes it much easier for you! :) I might paint my nails black and add the missguided red nail varnish to the tips - it reminds me of Drusilla from Buffy the vampire slayer ;) The necklace is again, Katherine inspired - it will add a nice twist to the black dress and we can all pretend Damon gave it to us... Anyway, I hope you like my Katherine/vampire inspired look - it was either that or going as a furry werewolf... I'd just like to add a big thank you to everyone who has started following me! :) Make sure you leave a comment on what post you'd like next. I'm going to run to Asda and buy food - lots of food! Easter eggs maybe? ;) Have a nice night girls! ♥

Kim Kardashian Inspiration ♥

Hi girls! I hope you’ve had a good week, if I could sum up my week in one word, it would be - chocolate. I have bought my body weight in chocolate and this includes milkshakes, Easter egg’s, mousse and ice cream. What is wrong with me?! It’s like I’m asking to get fillings and a bigger muffin top haha. Why can’t I crave salads! Is there any particular food’s that you get cravings for? Anyway, for today’s post I wanted it to be mainly image based so it could be inspirational. We all know how much I love Kim Kardashian’s style and for me personally – I would kill for her wardrobe and stylist! She always looks classy but glamorous at the same time and not a lot of celebs manage to pull that off without looking cheap.

Kim’s hair and make-up is also immaculate as well, it’s rare for me to like a celebs style as well as their make-up and hair. She is a pro at highlighting (well her make-up artist is anyway) and I’ve noticed how much of a difference highlighting and contouring can make! I really recommend watching Youtube videos on how to do it, I know I do… I’ve included the actual Youtube video of Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist Stephen Moleski actually creating one of her well known looks. I hope it helps! Let me know what your favourite Kim K outfit is – put a image link in the comment box! :) I don’t own any of these images I found them around the magnificent Tumblr and put them in this order.
